Anthony Rollie

Anthony Rollie is the first-born son to Triphinue and Ruthie Rollie, with sister Trinita and brother Vincent. He grew up in the wonderful city of Kansas, City, Missouri, known as the geographic center of the United States, location of the first outdoor mall in America, and proudly boasts the best barbecue this side of heaven. He grew up in the church beginning with the
congregation worshiping at 39th & Michigan, in KC, which then became the Swope Parkway Church of Christ, where Marion V. Holt was the minister. His father was one of the congregation’s elders and served faithfully for over 25 years. His mother, Ruthie Mae, was in the first graduating class of Southwestern Christian College, where his sister has been currently
working for over 30 years.

In June 1982, he left KCMO to pursue his Electrical Engineering degree at Prairie View A&M University, located outside of Houston, Texas. While there he was very active in the campus ministry and assisted in construction of the building currently residing there.

While at PV, he became close friends with Elizabeth Murphy who was also from KCMO. Although they attended the same High School, they originally did not start off on the best of terms (long story…lol). After Elizabeth’s conversion and 8 months of dating, both were united in marriage on 08 August 1984 at 19 years of age.

After marriage, they place membership at the South Union Church of Christ in Houston. Brother Edgar Scott was the minister and provided a wealth of knowledge and guidance. Anthony directed the Youth Chorus and both became youth counselors along with several other young couples at “The Union”. A strong marriage fellowship was formed with classes, fun nights, and special events. Both have looked at this experience as a strong marital building block and remain close, 30 years later, to all of the participating couples.

In 1989, they were blessed with the birth of their first child, Amie Elizabeth, followed by Micah Noel, and Anthony Triphinue (A2). In 2014 Amie was joined in marriage to Gregory McFarlin and in 2017 Caleb Gregory was born. The first grandchild on both sides. Over the years, The Rollie family has lived in a variety of places including Houston, Texas; Baltimore, Maryland; Heidelberg Germany; Stuttgart Germany; Wiesbaden Germany; and San Antonio, Texas.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death,
even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-8
