Zechariah Smith

Brother Zechariah Smith’s faith journey began as a college student on the campus of Mississippi State University. It was
in college that I began investigating questions of faith by reading the gospel according to John. Through reading the
foregoing, he discovered that God was human enough to get his hands dirty with human dirt, yet divine enough to save
sinners of their sins. This discovery solidified his commitment to Jesus Christ and led him to obey the precious gospel of
the Savior. He is seeking a position where he can serve the body of Christ through preaching, teaching, and discipleship.
His philosophy of ministry is rooted in a servant-leadership model, believing that the church is
called to be an epitome of love and justice in the world. Moreover, my approach to teaching is to
immerse the church in an aggressive study of the word of God by doing the following
collectively: Reading the bible together once a year, reading the Psalms once a month, and by
adopting a book of the New Testament and read it once per week (52 times per year). He believes ministry is not just
about having solutions but about having empathy and meekness to listen to others and walk alongside them in their own
search for truth. He is passionate about equipping congregations to live out their faith through service and to be active in
addressing issues like poverty and injustice within their communities.
He has experience in leading state youth conferences, conducting radio ministry and established
vibrant college ministries, where he has mentored young people and helped develop vibrant,
Christ-centered programs. He also has a passion for missional work and am committed to
spreading the Gospel in both urban and rural settings. He believes that a strong, healthy church is
one that is spiritually, biblically, and missionally engaged, and he longs to see lives transformed
and communities impacted by the love of Christ.
